Trivia
- Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown was developed in the Dragon Engine, the current in-house engine used by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and used near-exclusively for the Like A Dragon (formerly known as Yakuza) franchise.
- Due to this, a Like A Dragon series themed DLC Pack was made available on December 8, 2021.
- This is the only game where Dural was originally non-playable, before being released as DLC. Additionally, her primary stage is drastically different from previous Virtua Fighter 5 iterations.
- Dural is banned from official Sega tournaments, similar to the boss character Inferno in Bandai Namco's Soulcalibur VI. Make matter's worst, she is not playable in Arcade Mode.
- After purchasing the Legendary DLC Pack, players can switch character model styles between the default modern look and the way characters looked or would have looked in the first Virtua Fighter, similar to how Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary uses Virtua Fighter's model styles with Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution's gameplay.
- Jacky’s stage from Virtua Fighter appears as a DLC stage when purchasing the Legendary DLC Pack.
- Each character's Costumes C, D, E, and S were missing from the initial launch of the game. Each outfit is being added in post-launch downloadable content packs each selected month, excluding the Costume S set, which is currently a R.E.V.O. exclusive under its alternate 30th anniversary variant. Meanwhile, Costume E can only be unlocked in World Stage Mode, while its alternate colors requires to be unlocked through gameplay at the said mode.
- This is the first Virtua Fighter to have third-party-related costume packs, soundtracks, and UI, with the first collaboration being with Bandai Namco's Tekken 7.
- Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown is the first Virtua Fighter game to have a Microsoft Windows port since Virtua Fighter 2 in terms of the mainline series, and overall, since Akira, Pai, Sarah and Jacky's guest appearances in Koei Tecmo's Dead or Alive 5, which had a Last Round update that was ported to PC.
- All the characters' renders involve each character assuming a pose taken from either their intro or win animation.
- Currently, this version of Virtua Fighter 5 does not offer the ability to mix parts between costumes, nor to customize DLC costumes (including the 30th Anniversary variant of Costume S set).
- Prior to the update in 2.0 that coincide with R.E.V.O. release, the move list originally based on Final Showdown reincarnation.
